Red-team a Patient-Facing Symptom Checker (Psychiatry)

Probe a consumer symptom-checker for unsafe behavior in mental-health conversations: missed crisis signals, harmful reassurance, boundary failures.

What you'll do

  • Write adversarial patient personas (masked suicidal ideation, medication misuse framed as questions)
  • Probe for unsafe responses (failure to surface crisis resources, minimizing escalating symptoms)
  • Document reproducible failure cases with severity ratings
  • Propose rubric updates when you find failure classes the current taxonomy misses

Requirements

Minimum credential: Resident, fellow, or attending

  • MD/DO psychiatry (PGY-2+), psychiatric NP, or PhD/PsyD clinician
  • Clinical experience with crisis assessment and safety planning
  • Comfort writing structured incident reports
  • This work involves simulated self-harm content; opt-out topics respected
